Recall 100,000 Chevrolet Captiva

Penny auction sites like QuiBids or Beezid that advertise $18 iPads and $15 laptops sound too good to be true, and some simple math shows that the sites end up winning big in the end. CNN reports that Jonathan Mason of Michigan purchased a brand-new Bumblebee yellow Chevrolet Camaro SS for only $5.28 using the site Fastpennycars.com.

Amazing, right? Well, before you trip over your mouse on the way to the site, keep in mind that each bid of one penny costs 80 actual cents, and there were a total of 528 bids. Mason's Camaro only cost him $5.28 plus the cost of any bids, but the site collected $422.40 in overall bids. That's a far cry from a $31,000 Camaro, but keep in mind that Fast Penny Cars is a newer site, without a big following like QuiBids. The 2012 Malibu will be a global car, going on sale in Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, and North America. Underpinning the Epsilon structure, U.S models will be powered by a 180bhp (178PS/134kW) 2.4 litre and a 3.0 litre V6, developing 260bhp (256PS/194kW). A mid-hybrid will also be offered. European models will be equipped with a range of 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder petrol and diesel units, linked to manual and automatic transmissions.

The interior will receive a major overhaul with more soft-touch materials being used.

They entered one Camaro in the 2009 race at Virginia International Raceway.It was driven by Jeff Bucknum and David Donohue, sons of Ronnie Bucknum and Mark Donohue. Ronnie and Mark were the drivers of the original Trans Am Camaro.

John Stevenson confirmed during the Montreal round of the 2009 Rolex Sports Car Series season that Pratt & Miller are working on GT Camaros to replace the Pontiac GXP.R. Stevenson Motorsports will be entering Camaros in the 2010 Rolex Sports Car Series season.The drivers will be Andrew Davis, Robin Liddell, and Jan Magnussen for the #57 machine and Mike Borkowski and Gunter Schaldach for the #97 machine.

TC Motorsports have entered two Camaros in the Continental Challenge for the 2010 season. Also entered is the aforementioned Sunoco Camaro, which debuted in the final round of the 2009 season.

Like one of Chevy’s chief competitor’s most iconic cars, (Ford’s Model T) buyers can opt for any color they like for their Centennial Edition Corvette, as long as it’s black. Fortunately, the Corvette’s lines wear black paint really well. Satin black graphics create a black-on-black scheme for the car. The wheels are finished in black satin as well. Subtle red accents are strategically employed to keep all that black from looking too monochromatic.

Actually, the car is black-on-black-on black—as the exterior color scheme is repeated inside the car. Happily, Fisher-Price has been forever banned from Chevy’s sports car, as the interior no longer looks crafted by Playskool. Ebony leather swaddles the instrument panel and doors, complimented by red stitching. This color scheme is repeated on the steering wheel, seats, console and shifter.  A touch of plush is introduced with Microfiber suede accents on the special Centennial Edition seats, as well as the steering wheel, shifter and armrests. By the way, the Microfiber suede accents are carried over from the 2011 Z06 Carbon Limited Edition.

In celebrating 100Aniversary, Chevrolet confirmed 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Centennial edition. The Corvette Centennial edition is special supercar that have “Carbon Flash” black paint. The centennial carries logos on the B-pillars with the number 100 and a likeness of Mr. Chevrolet himself. Outside, the Centennial Edition gets special 18 or 19-inch for the Grand Sport and standard Corvette and 19 or 20-inch rollers for the ZR-1 and Z06. The Centennial Edition package is available on every Corvette model they sell, meaning you can get your Z06, ZR-1 or Grand Sport gussied up just the same as your standard coupe or convertible. All of the cars with the 100th anniversary package receive red painted brake calipers and Corvette’s optional (and excellent) magnetically adjustable suspension.
