Renault unveils the new Clio Renaultsport 200 and it is available in two versions, the Clio Renaultsport 200 Cup and Clio Renaultsport 200.
The Clio Renaultsport 200 is powered by 2.0 liter 16 valves F4R RS engine and can deliver an output of 200 horsepower and 215Nm of torque, which is 3 horsepower more than the previous 197 number model. Peak torque is achieved at a lower-end rpm of 5,400rpm, which is lowered by 100rpm and pre-3,000rpm torque is now 20% higher. The first, second and third gear ratios have been shortened for punchier and better acceleration, which means the Clio Renaultsport can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h (62mph) in 6.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 227km/h (141 mph).
The front end has a similair look to the new Megane and it does not have any spoiler on the back, instead relying on a fully functional rear diffuser to help with the aerodynamics. The diffuser incorporates twin exhaust tailpipes and the diffuser reduces lift at 130km/h by as much as 40kg. The front wings air-extractors are 30.5mm wider than a standard Clio to accommodate wider front and rear tracks, which are extended by 48mm at the front and 50mm at the rear. Wheelbase is extended by 10mm to the new 2,585mm number for greater stability.
The suspension dampers settings on the new RS 200 are actually about 15% softer than the RS 197. These dampers use hydraulic double-effect type, which uses an additional level of valving to help dissipate energy better.
Customer can have personalized choices with interior and exterior color options available through the Renault i.d. programme and the price for the Clio Renaultsport 200 is from £15,750 on the road.
